Life Update: I Moved!

I've been alluding to this a lot in my other posts, but I got a job! It's been a journey to get to this point of starting my career and the next chapter of my life, adulthood, but I learned a lot about myself since graduating in May 2022.

I won't give too many specifics here, but I am now an assistant editor for a publishing company that I had previously interned at during my undergraduate studies at Ohio State. I really loved my experience at this internship, and I am so grateful that I am now able to work with one of my mentors. With that being said, I recently moved back to Columbus, OH and am now living alone for the first time.

I am really excited about all of this! It happened really quickly, which was a little overwhelming, but I'm slowly getting adjusted. It's hard to believe that I've finally accomplished a dream of mine. I've wanted to be an editor since I was 10 years old, and while it's not book publishing like I always imagined, this still counts. I'm basically living the dream! With that being said, that doesn't mean that there aren't any challenges or fears with that.

Living alone is something I wanted to do since I didn't have super great roommate experiences in college. However, there is some fear of making sure I can afford my lifestyle, making a budget and sticking to it, and ensuring that my apartment is a safe space for me and I feel comfortable (which I do). I'm nervous about not doing well at my job or not being as social as I feel like I should because it's easy to just stay at home when I live alone and can't see my friends all the time because of my 9 to 5.

While I have some nerves about this new chapter, I know that this isn't something I can't handle. I have all the tools I need to succeed, and I am so lucky to be living a life I love and have dreamed of. I can't wait to see what this new chapter has in store for me and to bring you along too!
