The Bachelor Recap: Weeks 2 & 3

*There are spoilers to Weeks 2 and 3 of The Bachelor in this post!*

Hello everyone! This is extremely overdue, but I'm back! I took a week and a half-ish off from blogging and writing because I had some developments and a busy season in my personal life (more on that to come though). Even though I've been busier, I still made time for my precious Bachelor Mondays, and I'm excited to share all of my thoughts with you on the past two episodes!

Week 2

If I'm being honest, I really only remember Cat leaving, and I was happy about that. I liked Christina's one-on-one and how mature the conversation her and Zach had about her daughter was. I already liked Zach before the season started, but my respect for him increased a lot during the night portion of the one-on-one. My first impressions of Brianna were questioned when she was starting to create drama around Christina. I'm not saying that Brianna's feelings are invalid, because they are, but her beginning of the spiral led her to, in my opinion, retroactively ascribe actual hatred from Christina saying, "I hate you," because Brianna walked in with a rose prior to the limos pulling up to the mansion. I started to like Gabi a little more here because I think it just took her a while to warm up to The Bachelor in general. I also learned that Zach and I have two things in common: 1) we both had pyloric stenosis and 2) we both like Reese's!

Week 3

I was honestly shocked that Zach sent home Bailey and Christina this week. I really liked Bailey at the beginning and Christina the week before. I fully anticipated him to keep Christina around until the two-on-one because that has usually what's happened in the past (Christina was giving me Krystal vibes tbh). It was really refreshing to see that Zach is cutting the drama to find his best friend and life partner. The one-on-one with Kaity was super cute (Night at the Museum vibes!), but I think the fact that it was an overnight (while whether it was like a Fantasy Suite is unknown) is wild. I never would have expected something like that, but here we are.

I also found to not like Christina as much this episode. I'm not sure if it was the editing or just that her true colors were coming out, but I was just shocked about how she took Charity's moment of receiving the group date rose away from her. I think the way that Brianna went about it and then just *left* was insane and a whirlwind, but I think it was best that it happened now instead of later. For some reason, I was starting to find Brianna as slightly inauthentic, but I don't know the entire story of her experience, so who am I to judge?

Expectations for Next Week

There are now only 13 (I think) women left, which is kind of crazy! I think the eliminations have been much more than other seasons I've watched previously, so this is so interesting. My favorites as of now are Kaity, Jess, and Charity, but I have a soft spot for Gabi. I think the previews of whether Mercedes (or someone else?) being there for the right reasons is very interesting, and I'm eager to see what that's about.
