The Bachelorette Recap: Week 2

*Warning: There are spoilers for Week 2 of The Bachelorette in this post!*

With this week being absolutely crazy with the Fourth of July, I almost forgot to write this! I watched the episode on Tuesday since I was out watching fireworks on Monday night, so I think it's only fitting that this post goes up a day late too.

The elephant in the room here is Brayden. I personally like Brayden; I think he's confident and will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. He reminds me of Christina Mandrell on Zach's season, where she wasn't super self-aware about how what she was saying about "not knowing how the group date rose works" came across to other people. This is a different situation, obviously, but I noticed that Brayden is 24, which I believe makes him the youngest contestant this season. I don't want to say that his age is an excuse for his behavior, but it's definitely something to take into account. I just don't think he understands that what he's saying or how he's making his comments about the group date and not getting the one-on-one because he had the first impression rose is coming across. His comment on Charity being classless is absolutely horrific, and I'm curious to see how this plays out in next week's episode.

The one-on-one with Aaron B. was so cute! I thought that the date was actually pretty simple compared to Bachelor standards, but I think it was super meaningful and intentional, which is the best kind of date in my book. Charity and Aaron B. seem to be incredibly similar, and I'm excited to see how their relationship grows.

The first group date was very typical for The Bachelorette. Dodgeball is a classic, especially for a large group date like this one (I believe there were 12 men on this date). I don't have much to note here because I don't have a ton of thoughts in it. It was entertaining though! I also love John, and I'm so happy he got the group date rose.

I thought the second group date was interesting to say the least. The idea of competing for a chance at setting Bachelor Nation history is intriguing, but I don't think I would have been able to watch someone I'm becoming close to make out with the person I'm interested in for 4.5 minutes. That just seems like cruel and unusual punishment! However, I'm Team Joey and I will be until this season is over. If he doesn't end up with Charity, I hope he's the next Bachelor or that I could date him myself (lol).

The rose ceremony seemed pretty run of the mill. People I wasn't super familiar with and Spencer, who I was getting anxious from because of his anxiety during week 1, were eliminated, and the people I like are still around. I can't wait to learn more about the men left.

What do you think will happen next week with Brayden? I'd love to hear your theories!
